A Note from The Owner...
Wildwoods, NJ go way back and it is amazing how these photos capture how it was
in the past, in the early 1900s. Even back then, people came down the shore to
escape the heat of the city for those memorable Wildwood Days. We have
been collecting these post cards for some time now and we thought it would be
fun to add them to our site and share them with you. Wildwood
is my home town and I owned some of the old motels you can see in our Gallery.
One of them was the Coral Sands which now sits along Atlantic Ave and is no
longer ocean front. Our beaches have been growing on average between ten to
fifteen feet a year. The Coral Sands is now part of The Aztec and still has
that same charm. Every time I drive by it, I think how that hotel used to be an
oceanfront motel in the past. Now, there is another block past Ocean Ave before
you get to the beach.
will also see The Coliseum before it was redone in 2000. As you can see, it was
a very extensive renovation project!
Coliseum, long time ago...
Wildwoods are truly timeless when it comes to families coming together to the
beach and the Boardwalk. We are proud to be just a piece of that history in the
making, here at The Coliseum Ocean Resort.”Anthony
